Shipping Update

Greetings scoundrels, I wanted to let you know where all the books that we know about are (the ones we don't know about were claimed by Lord Scurlock and we're not asking him any questions):  

US Orders

• Standard edition (only) orders are all shipped and now in retail stores. We have tracking numbers for these available on request.
• Special edition orders (and orders that include both standard and special edition) are about 2/3 complete. They should all be sent out by June 9. We'll have tracking numbers for these once they are all sent.

Canada Orders

All books (standard and special) have shipped. Woo, Starlit! Tracking numbers available on request.

Other international locations

Both standard and special editions are in transit via air freight to GameQuest. (This was delayed multiple times by the shipper DHL, so much so that we ended up bundling both editions). GameQuest will update us once they have the pallets and start sending out shipments.

If you don't have your book yet, don't worry. There are still many books in transit. We'll update you again when we have final shipping confirmation and tracking numbers for all the books.

Shipping and POD Update

Greetings Scoundrels!

THE BOOKS ARE OUT THERE

Standard edition books are all shipped out. Domestic orders should be delivered now. Orders in Canada should be delivered by the 15th. Other international order have arrived at the freight forwarder and we expect them to start shipping out soon.

Thank you to everyone who's positing photos of their Blades books out in the wild. It's so wonderful to see the books reach you. I can't wait for the second wave when the Special Edition arrives. Speaking of which...

Special editions just finished printing and should be to Alliance by the 12th. From there they will start sending out domestic orders directly and sending international orders to our freight forwarders. Orders that include both standard and special editions will ship out with the special edition delivery.

POD codes have been delayed because I am slow! I was sick right around the time when I was supposed to get the files ready for DriveThru, and I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. I will have them ready as soon as possible. First, I'm sending the files to DT on Thursday so I can get a proof copy and make sure everything looks right. Once I confirm that, I'll send out POD codes.

Finally, here's a snapshot of some of the stretch goals currently in progress:

Coney Catchers: Jason is working on the release version now! No delivery date yet, but expect it to be finished pretty quickly.

Bluecoats: I've decided to model it after Sean Nittner's format for Vigilantes (2.0). It will also include a new city setting, Lockport, in Skovlan. Also, I'm putting the Inspectors into their own special playset, which will be set in Imperial City (where they can hunt for corruption and disloyalty at the highest levels of power). Progress on this is good, but not ready for public playtesting yet. Hopefully I'll have stuff to share later this month.

Blades Against Darkness: I just talked to Dylan the other day and he has some exciting ideas that will make BaD even cooler. This will probably mean more playtesting, so if you're interested in that, head over to the G+ group to get in on it.

The other playsets are still being worked on, I just don't have any updates to share right now. I will let you all know as soon as I do!

Blades is Complete and Print Ready!

Hello Scoundrels!

It is an auspicious day. Today, Blades in the Dark has been completed and the print-ready PDFs for the standard and special editions have been sent off to begin the printing process.

Whew! What a long, wild trip it has been. It feels a bit surreal to hit this milestone.

Up next: I'll update the PDFs to their final form for release to you all (including bookmarks and hyperlinks), and update all of the character and reference sheets then send them out as soon as I can (some time this weekend).

BackerKit books vs. POD books

Hello Scoundrels,

Just a quick update to clarify a few things.

1. If you're a digital-only backer, you can add a physical copy of the book via BackerKit for a special price (below the retail price later). I wanted to make that clear in case you clicked through your BK survey real quick and didn't notice it.

2. All backers will get a POD code for DriveThru RPG to print a POD version of the game through their service. This is not the same thing as the books available through BackerKit. The BackerKit physical books are professionally printed hardcovers.

3. If you're a physical book backer, you don't have to do anything special. You'll get a professionally printed book (the special edition). You can add additional books via BackerKit if you like. You'll also get a POD code to print a book via DriveThru.

Standard Edition PDF Release!

The full version of the Blades in the Dark PDF is now available. You'll all receive an email from BackerKit with a link you can use to download the files and upgrade your pledge if you want to. You'll also be able to enter your shipping address for the delivery of the book(s).

The Special Edition will be completed around 1/6, so there will be another update then for backers of the Special Edition level.
