PoD, Bluecoats, and Stretch Goals, oh my!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jul 26, 2017 at 12:05:54 AM

Greetings Scoundrels,

Now that all of the books are out, we're going to shoot for sending out updates once a month. That way John and the other stretch goal creators can stay busy working.

Print on Demand

The test print came in and it didn't look great. John is working on revisions but it's a slow process. Between printing and shipping, it's at least a few weeks between every iteration. John is still tweaking the brightness and contrast to get as close to the hardbound edition as possible.

We're shooting for 8/15.

Bluecoats

The city of Lockport, to the North in Skovlan, processes 90% of the demon blood siphoned by the leviathan hunter ships of Doskvol (the hunters drop their raw cargo at Lockport before filling their holds with refined blood and returning to Doskvol for repairs and replacement crew for those lost to the Void Sea). The huge, churning refineries in Lockport have poisoned the city under a stinking cloud of toxic fumes and acid rain.

It's a terrible place to live, just imagine what a horrible place it is to try and keep the peace. Hah! We all know the Bluecoats are just a gang with a chain and a fancy coat. Still, it isn't an easy life.

John is working on the Bluecoats supplement now, which will include the city of Lockport, rules for playing Bluecoats of the Watch, and all the scoundrels portraits and crews contributed as part of Scoundrel, Crew Portrait, Mastermind, and Overlord backer levels.

John is aiming to have this ready for beta review by 8/15 as well.

Stretch Goals, oh my!

How are all the stretch goals going? I'm glad you asked. We reached out to the creators to get updates from them. Here they are:

The Leech - Complete!

Ghost Lines - John has a new engagement roll drafted as well an initial playbook.

Broken Crown - James has a draft 40% complete and he's starting internal playtesting now!

Bluecoats of the Watch - See above, you should start seeing snippets of this in August.

The Spider - Complete!

Band of Blades - First Alpha playtest started in July at Go Play Northwest. Stras and John LL should have an eternal playtest draft ready by September.

Fully Illustrated Maps - Complete, with Ryan adding more all the time. Check them all out on his Patreon site.

Leviathan Song - Jonathan is working on it now and a playtest draft should be coming out in August.

Grifters - John just got in touch with Rob about some ways in which the world would be expanded to make a place for Grifters. Excited to see what Rob does with that!

Vigilantes - Complete. Download version 2.0 here. But there is more! Version 2.1 includes amazing art of the Doskvol Nobodies by Galen Pejeau and I'll be putting it up on DriveThru shortly if anyone wants a print copy!

Blades Against Darkness - Rules are complete. Dylan is creating the content now and looking to start playtesting in October!

Sparrow's Folly - Writing starting in October.

Null Vector - Playbooks drafted. Estimates to follow the release of Ghost Lines and Bluecoats.

Scum and Villainy - Rules complete. Stras and John LL are working on writing all the supporting text now. Digital pre-release is available now on DriveThru.

Womb of Night - Writing starting in the Fall.

Coneycatchers - Writing starting in the next three months.

Throne of the Void - Development will start once Band of Blades in in playtesting (estimated September).

P38: Blood on the Streets - Early concepts were mapped out during the Kickstarter and they paused till the book was complete. Now they are working on the design.

Those of you who got a good outcome on your survey may have noticed that a few of the stretch goals missing. We're waiting to hear back from the creators on their progress and will send out updates on those.

Good criming to all of you. More updates in a month!

- Sean
